Highlands of the Heartland Cattle Co. is nestled in the rolling hills of Eastern Iowa, where we proudly raise Scottish Highland Cattle. We specialize in micro, miniature, and midsized Highlands, offering a range that suits families, hobby farms, and small-scale breeders alike.
While our miniature Highlands are the heart of what we do, our farm is a true Iowa operation. We grow corn, soybeans, and hay; maintain a commercial beef herd; and keep things lively with chickens, ducks, miniature ponies, and miniature donkeys. Recently, we added a beautiful cut-flower garden — a project that quickly became a new found hobby and passion for the girls in our family!
What started as a small “hobby herd” has grown into something much bigger. Our goal in the beginning was simple: to give our children the chance to work with livestock from a young age. Miniature Highlands were the perfect fit — gentle, manageable in size, and impossible not to love with all that fluff. Today, we’re grateful to share these tiny, furry four-legged friends with families looking to start a hobby herd, welcome a joyful and unique pet, or grow their own miniature program.
Whatever brings you here, we are truly thankful you’ve taken the time to visit. It’s a blessing to wake up each day and do what we’re passionate about, and we don’t take that for granted. God is so good, and we are grateful for the opportunity to steward the land, the livestock, and this life He has entrusted to us.
